11am -5:00pm Pre-conference Workshop: Fundamental Techniques of Food Photography with Jamie Tiampo –Learn the essentials of food photography and styling, including how to control aperture, shutter speed, white balance and to use library management software to achieve ideal food images.During this workshop, you will work hands-on with a life food photo shoot with tips, tricks, and techniques provided by photographer Jamie Tiampo. Improve blog photography, marketing collateral, or next book. Learn to arrange your kitchen for food photography.
- Bring your DSLR and laptop loaded with Adobe Lightroom3.
- Attendance at this workshop is included within registration fee.
- You will be required to arrive Sat., Sept. 10, adding one night to your lodging.

- Writing with the Senses – Francis Lam – As you walk the Greenbrier gardens, learn
importance of paying attention to senses as you write. Then, with prompts from
Francis, write spontaneously for a limited time, followed by open reading.
- Communicating Via Video - Jamie Tiampo – What do YOU look for when web-surfing?
